A direction control valve is appropriately fitted between the pumping unit and hydraulic ram. Maximum depths and constant rate of penetration of about 1 to 2.5 cm/sec. can be obtained using engine driven unit. The whole unit is generally mounted on a trolley along with two tyres for the ease of transportation.
