It provides a simple & inexpensive method for the determination of Heat of Combustion of organic matters & Calorific value as well as Sulphur content of solid & liquid fuels. The outfit supplied is complete for the analysis as per the method recommended by British Standard Institution BS 1016. All parts of the system have been finished & tested according to the specifications laid down by the Institute of Petroleum & British Standard Institute.

Description

• CALORIMETER VESSEL: Vessel is made up of SS-304 & includes Bomb Support which ensures proper positioning of bomb in the vessel.

• WATER JACKET: Outer container of the jacket is made up of SS-304.Top is closed by means of Bakelite cover. A terminal block is fitted on the top of the container so as to make connection from the firing unit.

• OFFSET STIRRER: Stirring mechanism supplied along with the instrument gives sufficient turbulence for effective stirring without imparting any heat to the calorimeter water. It consists of an impeller driven by a stirrer at a constant speed.

• TESTING OF BOMB : Each bomb is tested before it leaves the factory in accordance with the requirement of the Institute of Petroleum(LP 12/63T Appendix 1)& a work certificate is issued with each Bomb. Certificate gives the results of hydraulic testing under a pressure of 300atmosphere (4400p.s.i.) Maintained for a period of ten minutes without sign of leakage. Maximum deformation must not exceed the specified limits. Combustion Bomb certified by National Test House /Regional Testing Centre or any other reputed institute can be supplied at an extra cost.
  

• ELECTRONIC FIRING UNIT WITH DIGITAL BECKMANN THERMOMETER :The unit incorporates a digital Beckmann Thermometer for the precise measurement of the rise in Temperature using electronic circuitry. Socket for stirrer as well as terminals for fuse wire are also provided at the bach of the firing unit .

• CRUCIBLE: Various types of crucibles are available as per the requirement. Standard crucible supplied along with the instrument is of SS of capacity 8ml which fits in the standard support ring.
