Precision Hydrometer 

This hydrometer is best for reading Original Gravities of wines and high gravity "big" beers. It will be more accurate than general use hydrometers because of its shorter gravity range. The steel shot and wax at the bottom of this glass hydrometer allows it to float in solutions. This hydrometer should not be used to stir the beer or wine. Please note that this hydrometer will not fit in the Fermtech Thief (item #1623) for sample testing. See below to add either a glass or plastic test cylinder.
