Working process of oxygen generation plant Atmospheric air is taken inside the air separation unit (ASU) where it is compressed. Then, it is moved through molecular sieves for eliminating impurities like moisture, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. The Now, the air is moved into a heat exchanger where it is cooled to very low temperatures. Oxygen is separated from nitrogen and other gases in the high pressure distillation column. Oxygen is formed at the top of the column. It is further distilled in the low pressure distillation column to meet commercial specifications.
