The foreline trap is used between a rotary pump or any mechanical pump and the vacuum system. The trap reduces the backstreaming of hydrocarbon contamination to negligible levels.
This contains molecular sieve for absorbing oil vapour and has a built in heater to reactive the sieves once saturated with oil vapour.
