For the determination of resistance to wear by abrasion.

It consist of two hollow cylinders closed at one end & provided with tight fitting covers at the other end. These cylinders are mounted on a shaft at an angle of 30 degree with the axis of rotation of the shaft. The shaft rotates at 30-33rpm through a reduction gear operated by a motor. Works on 440v, 3Phase.
