Heat tape is an excellent way to make sure that your water pipes don't freeze during the winter months. A broken water pipe can cause thousands of dollars of damage, but this can be prevented with some cheap heat tape. The heat tape is fairly easy to install and will save your home from major pipe damage. There are different types of heating tapes, including:
- Standard Insulated Heating Tapes are used on non-conductive surfaces such as glass or ceramic. They are often used as components in OEM assemblies or embedded in resin.
- Heavy Insulated Heating Tapes are used on conductive surfaces such as steel, stainless, aluminum, copper etc. They are available in Duo-Tape or Mono-Tape designs.
- Silicone Rubber Extruded Heating Tapes are used on conductive surfaces such as steel, stainless, aluminum, copper etc. especially where moisture is a problem.
- Wide-Heavy Insulated Heating Tapes are used on conductive surfaces such as steel, stainless, aluminum, copper etc.
