Germanium Window
Product Details:
Germanium (Ge) based optical components are widely used in imaging systems working in the 2 to 12 icrons.
The 8-12µm coated Germanium windows are typically used in thermal imaging and FLIR applications. Environment does not cause problems because Germanium is inert, mechanically rugged, and fairly hard. The Knoop Hardness of Germanium (780) is approximately twice that of Magnesium Fluoride, making it ideal for IR applications requiring rugged optics. Custom germanium windows are available in any size and configuration.
