Globe Scientific Instruments Digital Abbe Refractrometer 2501-G is a solid state instrument designed for the measurement of the refractive index no. of  transparent or translucent liquid and solid substance. This instrument is very easy to handle and uses minimum sample quantities. The samples can be in the form of solids, pastes or liquids. It is based on the principle of total reflection which occurs at the boundary between the prism and the sample. The refractive index of the prism determines the upper limit of the measurement range. It is always greater than that of the sample. The refractive index of the sample is dependent on the wavelength of the light used for the measurement and also on the temperature.
This instrument can also be used to measure the Brix(Bx) of the sugar solution and corrects the effect of temperature on the Brix automatically. The instrument can also display the temperature of the sample. It is widely used in beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, sugar/sweeteners, water/effluent, refining and food industries as well as in educational institutions and scientific research institutions.
