This Coil Friction Apparatus is comprised of an aluminum drum and wooden board that has three frictionless pulleys mounted on it. These pulleys can be adjusted at laps of 3/4th or 1/4th drum circumference. These apparatus is used to distinguish the relation between lap angle, tension and groove geometry.
