Flowmeter (Rotameter) consist of housing and a set of calibration glass tube with bobbin float. Calibration tube can be provided in a combinations of (O2+N2O) or customers requirement.
The flows control is obtained by needle valves which can be easily distinguished from one another by touch & colour. Easy to read large size scales with fluorescent illumination allow inside bobbins to be accurately read.
Description:
The gas flowmeter consists of two flowmeter tubes assembled together to work in parallel from two separate sources of gas supply and discharge through a single outlet.
- Control Valve: At inlet on the base of the front side of the instrument.
- Inlet Connection: At back, 7/16 inch UNF and 1/2 inch UNF (for O2 & N2O respectively), threaded male end.
- Outlet Connection: Female nipple end at top right side of the frame.

- Matering tube : Borosilicate Glass OD 15 mm Length 9"long.
- Float : Aluminium (Anodised Red for O2 & Blue for N2O)
- Float stopper : Top/Bottom, Plastic
- Frame : Aluminium (Powder coated)

Calibration
The flowmeters are calibrated ar 20°C and 760 mm of Hg (Barometric pressure)
- Accuracy : The accuracy of calibration shall be within the limits of variation of ± 5% of scale upto 10 L/M and 2% of scale for remaining range.
- Scale Length : 5.5 inch ±0.25 inch
Dimensions
The overall dimensions of the flowmeters shall generally confirm to our standard diagram. (Changes may be incorporated to suit customer's specific requirements)
Test
- Visual : The flowmeters are visually examined for any damage, cracks, missing parts, defects or discrepancy.
- Pressure : The gas flowmeters can withstand air flow pressure at 20psig, and the control valve at 90 psig without any leak.
- Calibration : The calibration of the flowmeter is checked against standard precision flowmeter and does not vary by more than 2 – 5%.
The flowmeters conform to Indian Standards specifications for continuous Flow Inhalation Anaesthetic Apparatus (Anaesthesia machine) for Use with Humans, i.e. ISO 5358 -1980.
